Sociax, a startup based out of California and founded by renowned branding strategist Peter Pek has opened its doors to a new service which they term a ‘social media management platform’.

They provide not only monitoring, but also help engage with your audience on behalf of your company or brand.

Excerpts from their FAQ page:

Sociax helps your brand and company to monitor and manage Social Media. Sociax allocates a Social Media Consultant to every brand and company that subscribes to our services. They oversee the management of a team of socializers, who work around the clock to monitor and manage your Social Media accounts…

Sociax provide brands and companies with cost-effective Social Media management services. Social Media management requires an enormous amount of human resources. It is time consuming work to be able to properly manage and coordinate Social Media sites and networks, and to do this well…

We believe that fully automated systems are not good enough when it comes to Social Media management. Social Media involves real people and not machines. Professionals are required to mange Social Media effectively, and not machines.

Peter tells me that they’re only in the business of supporting you and not to think up new campaigns. That part–the strategy–is left to the client to define through rules of engagement.

I think that they’re heart is in the right place and Peter definitely knows and understands social media. For businesses and brands who don’t have the long-term resources to run their social media efforts all on their own, Sociax appears to be a good service to help support them.

Sociax offers reasonably-priced packages for ongoing engagement or campaigns starting at USD1,000/month or about RM3,600/month. They also provide a package just for social media monitoring reports at USD480 / RM1,728. For a mid-sized company or larger, that’s a very reasonable cost to have professionals engaging and responding to customers on your behalf, 24 hours a day. For their launch Sociax is offering their Sociax Star package at only USD700. If you have a need for this right now, you may really want to consider Sociax closely.

In conclusion, Sociax is a welcome entrant to the social media space. They fill the gap between the many monitoring services now and full-blow agencies like Vocanic or BRANDTHINK. A service like Sociax doesn’t mean that brands can abdicate their responsibility to engage and communicate with their customers. Brands still need to take ownership of their social media efforts and not outsource it completely to a 3rd party agency or service, however great they are.

On a side note, Sociax is giving away lots of prizes in conjunction with their launch. Do check them out and take part in the contest!
